Warren McPherson, M. Ed is a lifelong Montessorian with over 35 years in Montessori education. Warren graduated from Cornell University in 1969. In 1971 he graduated from the Washington Montessori Institute (AMI) with certification for ages 3 to 7. In 2007 he completed a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Montessori Education. Currently he serves as the Director of the Athens Montessori School, serving over 270 students from ages three through fourteen.
Warren has served as president of the Board of MEPI; a Board member of MACTE; Chairman of the AMS Regional conference in Atlanta; founding member of PAMWO, and Board member for GAYC. In addition he has served on the Board of Directors of many local nonprofit organizations.
His avocations include improvisation, drama, music and organic gardening. He enjoys sharing his experience in these areas through workshops, teacher training courses and with classes at his school.
His wife of 39 years, LaVonne McPherson, shares in this work as the nine to twelve teacher at Athens Montessori School and as the Program Director for Montessori Teacher Institute Elementary education. They live in Athens. Georgia and have two daughters: Dr. Camille McPherson-Kim and Marya McPherson-Schubot, MBA.
Warren and Denise Harold have teamed up to launch Montessori Synergies as a way of sharing and collaborating with like-minded educators and parents all over the globe and of accelerating the positive messages and methods of how to best nurture children’s healthy growth and development.
