Children and adults alike need to develop the skills-set needed to replace conflict and the inevitable battles which ensue with conflict resolution and creative collaboration. As the stakes become higher for the preservation of the environment, the elimination of hunger, and an end to the squandering and destruction of vital resources and human life in acts of war, education must lay the groundwork for new ways of thinking and acting which precludes the violence which stems from ignorance and prejudice.
Maria Montessori placed the construction of a new humankind dedicated to service to humanity as the cornerstone of all education. We must use all of our new technology in service to the education of a new generation of thinkers and innovators, who can face the stiff challenges of the upcoming century and resolve issues without violence,
Peace must be pursued with same rigor and determination that we now apply to the development of sciences of war and exploration.
We must prepare the minds of a new generation for peace as we align our resources for the attainment of peace.
